A Girl and Her Book

I was on a bridge, wanting to cross a road. I step on the stairs, going up. There I found a girl, sitting on the last stair, reading a book. Near her, there were packs of tissue paper, waiting to be sold.

Unlike any other kids, who would yell around to sell their tissues or sometimes even force me to buy it, she was just sitting there, and reading a book, silently. It was a very cold night, almost winter.

I found it strange, but I didn’t stop my step. Until some steps ahead, I stopped and was amazed by what I’ve seen. I wanted to ask her, why are you here? Why don’t you sell your tissues? What are you reading? Where did you get that? Are you interested in reading books? Do you want me to get you some more books?

But, I didn’t ask her anything. I continued walking to my bus stop. Silently promised, if I ever see her again, reading her book, I’ll go ask her my questions and maybe give her some books =)
