Story of My National Team

Hi! It’s me again! Finally coming out from the comfort of tumblr-audience seat =)

So, let’s head to what I’m gonna tell you.

You, fellow Indonesians, know that Sea Games has become our first-page-news in almost every newspapers and magazines, especially badminton and football. And yeah, as usual, it’s been an anti-climax for our national team’s effort.

Before we proceed, I want to tell you that I appreciate Garuda Muda’s attempt to give another gold medal in Indonesia. They’ve played beautifully. Their play was indeed impressive. They deserved to go to the final.

Though in the final, I found them not as impressive as usual. They’ve played well, with the fatigue, burden and everything. I know how it feels to be in a competition like that, it’s like you’re gonna throw up, but nothing to be thrown up. It’s just, I found less determination in their game. “I am tired and you know I’m tired and this is the best that I could do” not “I’m tired but yeah, I can do better for us”. Like I’ve said, they played beautifully, yet unfortunately it’s not enough for me. Still, thumbs up for the Garuda Muda. Thank you for giving us, Indonesians, happiness, unity, hope.

But, you know what? There is more of a football team than a mere eleven player on the field. At least, there is a manager, coaches, and of course substitutes. Unquestionably, it’s hard for us, common people, to evaluate them. What we could see is the organizations that back up our national team’s activities and the supporters, especially the supporters.

I definitely am disappointed by those who think that they are the “supporters” but can do nothing but ruining the image of Indonesians. You might read your local newspaper or turn on your tv to know what happened, and yeah Indonesians, it’s disgusting! Not all of the supporters did something bad like that, and for those I raise my hat and thank them.

So, overall, Malaysia deserves the medal, moreover they did shown some more will to win the medal. For me, Indonesia is not ready yet for a gold medal. Maybe later, but not too late I hope =)

P.S. I hate Malaysians, who said and did bad things to Indonesians. Screw you!
